Adam Goldenberg has been founding companies since he was 15 years old. He opened his first company in 1996, Gamers Alliance was so successful he was able to sell it to Intermix Media three years later. What did he do? Adam quit high school, moved across the country and joined Intermix Media. By the time he was 20 years old he was the COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Intermix Media making him the youngest COO of a publicly traded company in the country.
While at Intermix Media Adam Goldenberg met Don Ressler, a brand building specialist who also sold his company FitnessHeaven to Intermix in 2001. Don Ressler had generated sales of over a billion dollars and raised more than a million dollars in investment capitol for multiple Internet companies.
By the time Intermix was acquired by News Corporation in 2005 Don and Adam had become good friends and decided to form their own company. In 2006 Goldenberg and Ressler launched the e-commerce brand incubator platform, Intelligent Beauty. They were so successful they were able to launch several other brands related to health and beauty, before long they were among the market leaders.
The partners were already thinking about how to merge social interaction with the fashion industry and at the same time keep it affordable on fabletics.com. They were eager to capitalize on this mostly untapped market. They determined for this to work online it had to be highly social, engaging and perhaps most important of all, fun.
The two friends decided on a major expansion of their very successful Intelligent Beauty. They immediately set about creating a personalization platform, hiring designers and style consultants with the goal of building an attractive and affordable business model. JustFab was born, an e-commerce website where members can receive a monthly selection of shoes, handbags, and accessories that are selected the meet their personal taste for $39.95 a month.
So for less than $40.00 dollars a month you virtually have your own personal shopper. Not only that JustFab will show you how to wear each item, using style boards and showing you the complete look on a model. Style tips are offered from leaders in the field of fashion. JustFab also wants their members to connect with one another because fashion is something that deserves an answer.
To quote Adam Goldenberg “When we started this business, I couldn’t tell you the difference between a peep toe and a Mary Jane.” Obviously, Adam Goldenberg is a fast learner. Going from a 15-year-old entrepreneur to being a co-CEO at the super successful JustFab.
