My name is Rev. Elizabeth Rowley. I am a pastor, wife, and mother of two. It’s been five days since I posted my last blog. I struggle with anxiety, depression, and other issues, so the pressure to blog and be social and push myself to do things I can’t do was not a good idea in the first place. The fact that I’m posting is an accomplishment. And I want to take the opportunity to tell you that I’m doing better and I’m going to keep working toward my goals.
The only difference between a Christian and a devil is the size of their ego. Short of an all-out war, a person’s soul is irrevocably lost if they are not on the verge of salvation. Christianity’s message is the only way to achieve eternal life.

Is your devotion to your life’s unfolding vision stronger than your resistance? Keeping your promises and following through requires discipline.
For many people, the term discipline has a bad connotation, therefore it is brushed aside or ignored. Consider this: practice is another word for discipline, and promise is another term for commitment. As a result, you may see self-discipline as a chance to put your vows into practice — the promises you made to yourself – God inside you. You experience a feeling of success when you fulfill your commitments to yourself because you have kept your word and are in integrity, with dignity, elegance, passion, and profound satisfaction. It requires discipline to consume food that feeds our bodies, to drink at least eight glasses of water each day, to engage in a daily spiritual practice, and to alter our thoughts in order to transform our life. Discipline helps us stay on course while we’re trying to make a change. The path to liberation is paved with acts of self-love, self-respect, and submission.
In his book Spiritual Liberation, Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith gives a wonderful example. Imagine having a regular meditation practice in which you sit in quiet for forty minutes every morning, as he suggests. Less tension, more serenity, and more happiness begin to appear in your life as a consequence of your practice. Your spouse needs assistance bringing your child to school one day, and you volunteer for the following two weeks. You tell yourself, “Oh, I just don’t feel like it, and moreover, I need my rest.” Instead of getting up a little earlier in the morning to meet this additional duty while still having time to meditate, you tell yourself, “Oh, I just don’t feel like it, and furthermore, I need my rest.”
What went wrong? Your emotional reasoning justified your choice not to put out the effort required to fulfill your desire to meditate every morning. The wonderful gift of self-discipline, on the other hand, is that it has the ability to lead you beyond the logic of fleeting feeling to liberation.

It’s life-changing when you apply discipline to your spiritual journey. To discern or see clearly is the origin of the word discipline. “To be a disciple is to acquire the discipline of being yourself,” Osho said in his book Love, Freedom, and Aloneness. “You are your real self.” The Self inside all selves is your real self. It is the dazzling, unconditioned you who was born into the world. It understands what you’ve come to accomplish and who you’ve come to be. It is your responsibility to eliminate the obstacles that hinder you from hearing the quiet tiny voice inside you. It’s your intuition’s voice, the part of you that has been patiently waiting for you to recognize and listen to it. Meditation is a good place to start if you haven’t yet connected with that part of yourself.
It’s time to keep the vows you made to yourself and to the God inside you. A little self-control can go a long way. You’ve got this!
That is correct.
