Pink has joined a group of other companies and companies that have apologized for sexism in the workplace, with a €250,000 donation to the woman’s beach handball team in Norway.

Pink has come out in support of the Norwegian women’s beach handball team after they were penalized for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms at the European Beach Handball Championships, promising to pay their fine.
The European Handball Federation (EHF) fined the team 1,500 euros (£1,295) for wearing shorts, which were deemed “inappropriate clothing” during their bronze medal match against Spain last Sunday. Shorts are “not according to the athlete uniform regulations defined in the IHF [International Handball Federation] beach handball rules of the game,” according to the EHF.
According to Inside the Games, the Norwegian Handball Federation (NHF) requested that their players wear shorts instead of the ’embarrassing’ bikini bottoms that are regulated, but they were told that they would be fined for breaking the rules, which state that bikini bottoms must be “not more than 10 centimetres on the sides.”
Now, the 41-year-old worldwide popstar has come out in support of the team’s choice to wear whatever they wanted and risk a punishment.

The men’s handball teams are allowed to wear shorts that are “not too baggy” and “10 millimeters above the kneecap,” according to the regulations.
Pink has previously shown her support for female athletes, such as when she praised tennis star Naomi Osaka when she withdrew from the French Open due to mental health concerns and received criticism, notably from former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.
Pink stated in a thread that she was “proud” of Naomi and that she was “an example I would show my children,” as well as calling Venus Williams a “goddess” for how she handled media criticism.
The EHF has released a statement in response to criticism of their decision to penalize the Norwegian women’s team, promising that “all efforts would be made to better promote the sport.”

However, the EHF said that the response was “based on misinformation about the process,” since modifications must be approved by the IHF.
