Brentford were awarded a penalty within the first 10 minutes after Swansea goalkeeper Freddie Woodman brought down Brian Mbeumo in the box.

The final whistle brought jubilation to Frank and his players and was a compelling testament to the methods of the club’s owner, Matthew Benham, a former professional player who has used in-depth statistical analysis to make millions to transform a club that had lived in the shadows of the giants of the capital.
Tony is a perfect example of Brentford’s transfer policy. He was contracted for £5m from Peterborough last year to replace Ollie Watkins, who went to Aston Villa for £33m and joined for £1.8m.
I’m empty now, Frank said. I don’t know how to describe it. Last season I thought we deserved to go higher, but we didn’t and that’s football. This group of players is incredible.
