Temuera Morrison on Mandalorian.
Temuera Morrison, who plays Boba Fett in Star Wars – and more recently in Mandalorian – spoke to a New Zealand media outlet while still filming The Book of Boba Fett. He revealed some interesting behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the news.
He was filming in Los Angeles and talked about COVID-19strict procedures.
Morrison spoke with reporters from the NZ Project while the Boba Fett book shoots were still underway in Los Angeles in mid-February. In his interview, he revealed how strict they are in taking precautions regarding COWID-19.
I’m in Los Angeles… We work with screening, masks, rapid tests every three days, regular tests once a week, he said. It’s a different way of working now, but we’re still going through some things. So yeah, it’s a different world now.
He says that sometimes he feels very important, because when he walks across the square, everyone has to wear a sign or a mask.
Moving forward, he said when asked if it was difficult to work in a more challenging environment. You just need to get to work a little earlier. They take your temperature, give you a band so you can stay on set ….. I am one of the blessed. They came to my trailer to do the COVID test. So we keep filming. When I get to the set, people have to take off their masks. I have a feeling that Mr. Big Shot. They say: An actor on the set! And everyone needs to take down the sign. So, yes, it’s a minor procedure. … When I’m gone… Everyone has zones. Zone, Red Zone, Green Zone. It’s a little different, but it’s still about shooting and doing.
He was interviewed from his gym where he still trains in wrestling and boxing
He told them that he talks about his gym and that he still trains a lot to stay in shape for his roles.
I’m here, Mr. Action Man, he said, pointing to the gym where he trains and stays in shape for his roles. In his gym, there are arm and stick boxing training sessions, he shared.
I’m working on Bob’s book, he replied when asked what he was working on. Keep it under your elbow. I can’t tell anyone.
Fans have wondered if all his training, as he nears the end of filming, means he’s also training for other roles, perhaps the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Morrison has not yet revealed if he will be on the show, but fans are hoping so.
There are also rumors that Commander Cody may return to Star Wars in some form. An Instagram post from January showed Morrison growing a grey beard, leading to the theory that he might also star in the Kenobi series. Had he been in the Kenobi series, his beard would have prevented him from playing Boba Fett, which could have made way for an appearance as Commander Cody.
However, Morrison’s New Zealand interview was published about a month after the above Instagram post, and he no longer had the grey beard.
Then he showed me his T-shirt, which said: Boba Freeth and the Strutttroopers. He said he was starting a new band.
Me and (director) Robert Rodriguez, he joked, are rehearsing Billy Idol songs tonight. Oh, my God.
The Book of Boba Fett will air on Disney Plus in December 2021. According to Jon Favreau, Mandalorian season 3 will begin after the series finale.
