The Dallas Stars got a late start to the 2021 season due to the COWID-19 postponement and played a few more games than their rivals during the season - a nice sight to see as they try to redeem themselves in the race for the Central Division playoff spot.
The bad news is that the extra pad was used with eight games left in the division, such as against the Carolina Hurricanes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks. The good news is that they are only two points away from a place in the post-season after a 4-3 win over Keynes on Monday night.
Dallas and Carolina again at 8:30. and Tuesday nights (live on ESPN+). If Dallas wins again and the Nashville Predators lose to the Florida Panthers, the Stars will be tied with the Predators for fourth place (although Nashville holds a 4-3 lead in head-to-head games). This race is far from over.
With the regular season coming to a close, it’s time to look at the playoffs and the teams that are in the running for the lottery for the 2021 NHL Draft.
