Scott Frost had not yet led the Nebraska Huskers to a winning season when he took over as head coach. Many fans believed Frost was the man to make the Huskers competitive in the Big Ten conference when he took over as head coach. Unfortunately, the 46-year-old has yet to live up to the expectations of Nebraska fans, and there is speculation that he will be leaving the team. However, Coach Frost denied rumors of his departure during his last press conference.

Coach Frost remains committed to making Nebraska competitive in the Big Ten conference.

Now entering his fourth season at Nebraska, Coach Frost says he is still determined to make the team a powerhouse in college football.

However, he admitted that the criticism he received from some fans could be justified. However, Scott Frost feels that there is less pressure on his players to maintain the positive momentum next season. The 46-year-old advised his team to ignore the outside noise and instead focus on improving their play in the offseason. Coach Frost also talked about the departure of some key players from the team.

Several Nebraska players have used the transfer portal this season.

Many Nebraska Huskers fans were surprised when Luke McCaffery entered the transfer portal. The sophomore quarterback recorded 466 passing yards and a touchdown during the 2020 season when he worked closely with Adrian Martinez as quarterback.

Fans were optimistic about McCaffery’s improvement this year, but the talented quarterback decided to end his contract with the Huskers. The Nebraska Huskers will also be without their wide receiver in 2021 after Van’Dale Robinson announced his transfer to Kentucky. In addition, Husker offensive lineman Will Farniok has entered the transfer portal.

In his press conference, Coach Frost commented on the changes in his team.

The fourth-year head coach said he had no problem with players deciding to look elsewhere for their talents. Scott Frost pointed out that he had transferred from Stanford to Nebraska during his college days, and it would be hypocritical of him to criticize his players for using the transfer portal.

However, Coach Frost promised that his scouting department will add more talent to the Huskers team this season. The 46-year-old also urged his young players to be more patient in their development. Coach Frost feels that some of the young players on his team are too enthusiastic when they first join the team, and as a result are frustrated when they don’t have immediate success. Nebraska fans are looking forward to the team’s spring practices in the coming weeks. Many analysts believe Coach Frost needs to get his team back on track after the recent string of off-season starts.
