Throughout its history, the Hall of Famer has honored the Buffalo Bills with its presence. Although the Bills have struggled in the NFL most of the time since the merger of the AFL and NFL in 1970, these bright gems that joined the franchise have been able to give the Bills some moments of success. Legends like O.J. Simspon, Jim Kelly and Bruce Smith are truly the cream of the crop when it comes to iconic figures in Buffalo football.

The most important thing right now is that the Buffalo Bills franchise is a winner. Behind the shooter Josh Allen, honesty comes in a genuinely relevant place.

However, there are some big guys who fall through the cracks, mostly because their time in Buffalo was short. That said, let’s look at some forgotten bills.

5. Marcus Stroud (DT, 2008-2010)

Forgotten Bills, history of Bills, Josh Allen, Bills, the Super Bowl.

Anchor points

Marcus Stroud, a three-time professional bowler, is a perfect example of the short, short and long bowling … Stroud had an impressive career with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he was named to PA’s second All-Pro team and was selected to the Pro Bowl three years in a row from 2003 to 2005. After a rather controversial end to his seven-year stint in Jacksonville, Stroud was traded to the Bills for multiple Bills picks. The Bills needed him so badly because he was one of the worst defenders on the team at the time. The TD had an immediate impact, moving the Buffalo defense from 31 (2007) to 14 (2008).

Stroud and the Bills had a promising start to the 2008 season but ultimately fell to a record 7-9. The double member of the CFA’s first group has signed a two-year contract extension with the Chamber of Commerce. Unfortunately, his tenure in Buffalo was rather unsatisfactory and he was finally fired after the 2010 season.

4. Larry Centra (RB, 2001-2002)

Another great thing in the NFL that we tend to forget is the Larry Centers fullback, who plays for the Bills. The Texas native was All-Pro with the Arizona Cardinals early in his career. Centra is undoubtedly one of the best in his career and even has the most passes caught by a RB.

Despite playing only two short seasons with the Bills, the Centers reached their third and final Pro Bowl in their first season in Buffalo. He also surpassed Ronnie Harmon’s record for most receiving yards in RB against the Seattle Seahawks. Centers ended his short tenure at the ACA with a top 10 finish.

It’s pretty amazing that it’s on our list of forgotten accounts, given the history of the franchise.

3. Reggie Bush (RB, 2016)

Reggie Bush, NFL Mike McCarthy and Matt Patricia Thanksgiving.

Reggie Bush was known for his incredible academic career at USC, where he was also a two-time national champion. He spent his early years in the NFL as a member of the New Orleans Saints. He quickly made good on his promise, becoming the All-Rookie Team in 2006 and the All-Pro First Team in 2008. Bush was also a key figure in the 2009 Super Bowl championship.

After being sent to several teams, Bush finally landed in Buffalo in 2016, where he signed a one-year deal. Unfortunately for Bush and the Bills, Holy Family Hall was in the twilight of its career in 2016. He became the first player in NFL history (other than the QB) to finish the season with at least ten carries and has negative yardage at -3. Bush reportedly resigned after this season and ended his career. So it’s not a big history lesson for the Bills.

2. Terrell Owens (WR, 2009)

Forgotten Bills, history of Bills, Josh Allen, Bills, the Super Bowl.

There is no doubt that TO deserves to be on all the great lists of all time, especially those that emphasize the brevity of the accounts. Owens is one of the fastest players to get on the field, and his six-time NFL Pro Bowl selection has only reinforced that fact. Although he made a name for himself in the NFL in his first decade with the San Francisco 49ers, Owens even made a brief appearance in Buffalo in 2009.

In 2009, the Hall of Famer signed a one-year contract with the Chamber of Accounts. His first catch for Buffalo put former Bills receiver Andre Reed on the list of the top 20 best receptions of all time. One of the final highlights of Owens’ career with the Bills was becoming the sixth player to reach 1,000 career receptions in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Curiously, although he is one of the most famous actors, it is surprising to see him on our list of forgotten accounts.

1. Aquan Boldin (WR, 2017)

Accounts

So Aquan Boldin didn’t really play for the Bills, but since he signed a one-year contract with Buffalo, he’s a worthy candidate for the team. Boldin was not only known for his incredible catches and runs on the field, but also for all of his off-field advocacy. He was voted NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2005.

But the Florida native was not stingy either. He was a prominent member of the Baltimore Ravens team that won it all at Super Bowl XLVII in 2011 and 2012. Boldin was also named to the Pro Bowl three times in his previous tournament with the Arizona Cardinals. After signing a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, Coldin signed a one-year deal with the Bills in 2017. However, just two weeks after his announcement in August, the big receiver announced he was retiring from professional football to focus on his humanitarian work.

Browns, Miles Garrett.
